Update on wheel versus pothole

What a fiasco!

Friday: Tire Barn calls to let me know the new wheel is in. I go, get
the tire swapped to the new wheel, they put both 18s on for me,
replacing the stockers I had on there. I go home, then about an hour
later I head to Office Depot to print and copy the stuff I need to file
the tort claim with the state. Car drives funny. Passenger rear tire
(new wheel, old tire) is completely flat. I air it up, only to notice
that air is escaping nearly as fast as I'm putting it in. I jack up the
car and put a stocker that's still in my trunk on.

Saturday: Wake up at a friend's house in Muncie and head back to Anderson. Stop at Tire
Barn. They find that the sidewall is gashed from the pothole. Need a
new tire. Decide to buy 4 new ones instead, as the junk tires I had
sucked anyways, and they had a special on Kelly Tires. Got 4 Kelly
Fierce HP for $350 (225/40R18, pretty good deal). So they start the
dismount/mount/balance process. Their new mounting machine takes a
poop. Then they realize that when they put some of the lugnuts on on
Friday, they crossthreaded two on the driver's side. I have to have the
wheel studs replaced. So I have three new tires, one old one, and have
to make an appointment at a shop they use to have the wheel studs
replaced, then I can get my fourth tire mounted/balanced.

*sigh*

Who says wheels should be round?

Last night on the way home from my cousin's house, I didn't see a huge cliff of a dropoff that jutted into the roadway and nailed it. I thought I popped the tire until I got the wheel off of the car and saw what you see in the picture. Tire's fine, wheel's not. Keep in mind this damage was done about 6 feet into a turn from a dead stop. I'll probably go take pictures of the road in a little bit.

I'm not used to this

People brushing their teeth in the men's room at work. Totally odd to me. I can't imagine brushing my teeth while the other noises and odors of the men's room are all around me.

Back in the swing of things

After 4 days off of work, staying up late and sleeping in, I'm having a
really hard time getting back into the swing of things of daily work. I
think I need a few half-days to recover from vacation.

Happy birthday, America

Another 4th of July, come and almost gone. I can't say mine was especially exciting, though I did get to spend some time with Ericka, so that was very nice. Of course we had to grill out, threw some chicken breasts on the glowing charcoal and made some fried rice (from a box, of course). Now I'm listening to my neighborhood turn into a warzone...

And this is why

I do NOT ride roller coasters. I'd pee my pants! Indy Star news article.

Wallpaper de Noah

Here's another pic I took Friday of Noah relaxing in the freshly-cut grass. He contrasts so well! This is wallpaper-sized if you wish to use it.

Another one down

Well, chalk up another loss for the Indiana Whitesnakes. Our slow-pitch softball team dropped another one tonight to the ten run rule. Ugh. We haven't put together a good game yet! I batted like crap, both flyballs that were easily caught. I pitched decent, though, so I guess that's a plus. Hopefully we can crack together some victories before too long. I enjoy playing either way, though.

If looks could kill

So Friday I was working from home, and stepped out to the yard to check on the dogs. Check out the dirty look Myshka was giving Noah! I snapped the pic and didn't realize the death stare was goin' down until I opened it up on my computer.

Back to Blogger

After starting my new job and not wanting to mess with moving my site to a new host, I'm now using blogger again. Welcome back! It's been a while...
